Ready to Print: Artwork Guidelines

To ensure your prints come out perfectly every time, please follow these simple artwork preparation guidelines. Properly prepared files help us avoid delays and ensure the best possible print quality.

File Requirements

✔ Resolution:

  • All artwork must be at 300 DPI (dots per inch) for sharp, professional results.

  • Low-resolution images (e.g., 72 DPI) will appear blurry or pixelated when printed.

✔ Color Mode:

  • Files must be in CMYK color mode (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black).

  • RGB files (used for screens) may print with unexpected color shifts.

✔ File Types Accepted:

  • PDF (preferred)

  • JPEG / JPG

  • PNG (for transparent backgrounds)

  • AI / EPS / SVG (for vector artwork – fonts must be outlined)

Size & Bleeds

✔ Trim Size:

  • Design your artwork to the exact final print size (e.g., 5"x7", 8.5"x11").

✔ Bleeds:

  • Add 0.125" (3mm) bleed on all sides of your artwork.
This prevents white edges when trimmed.
Example: A 5"x7" card should be submitted as 5.25"x7.25".

✔ Safe Zone:

  • Keep important text and graphics at least 0.25" from the edge to avoid accidental trimming.

Fonts & Text

  • Convert all text to outlines or curves if submitting vector files (AI, EPS, SVG).

  • Or, embed fonts in your PDF file to avoid font mismatches.

Before submitting your file, double-check that it is:

✅ 300 DPI resolution
✅ CMYK color mode
✅ Correct trim size with 0.125" bleeds
✅ Text converted to outlines or fonts embedded
✅ No crop marks or printer’s marks unless requested
